Next Step: Configuring the DOI

The next important step after completing your publishing house setup is configuring the DOI (Digital Object Identifier).

The DOI (Digital Object Identifier) feature allows journals to assign globally recognized identifiers to published articles, issues, or other academic content. DOIs are usually registered with agencies such as Crossref or DataCite, ensuring permanent linking and discoverability.

Field Description

  • Enter DOI Publisher ID

    • This is the unique identifier provided by a DOI registration agency (e.g., Crossref).
    • Typically, it is your prefix (e.g., 10.1234) assigned when your journal is registered.

Steps to Add a DOI Publisher ID

1. Obtain DOI Prefix
  • First, register your journal with a DOI registration agency such as Crossref.

  • The agency will provide you with a unique DOI Publisher Prefix.

2. Enter the Prefix
  • Type your assigned prefix into the field labeled “Enter DOI Publisher ID”.

  • Example: 10.5678

3. Save
  • Once entered, the system will store your DOI Publisher ID.

  • All future article DOIs will be generated using this prefix.

note

DOIs are permanent and cannot be changed after registration. Ensure accuracy

Example of DOI Structure

A DOI is composed of two parts:

note

Prefix / Suffix

  • Prefix: Assigned by the registration agency (e.g., 10.5678).

  • Suffix: Assigned by the journal system for each article (e.g., abc.2025.001).

Full Example DOI: 10.5678/abc.2025.001
